David Di et al. published a review in Nat. Nanotech.: Light Management of Perovskite light-emitting diodes

Recently, David Di of Zhejiang University, Richard H. Friend of Cambridge University, Abd. Rashid bin Mohd Yusoff of Pohang University of Science and Technology and others have conducted a review of the light management of perovskite light-emitting diodes.

Perovskite light-emitting diodes (LEDs) have achieved external quantum efficiencies of more than 20% across a variety of colors, showing great potential in display and lighting applications. However, although the internal quantum efficiency of the best-performing devices is already close to 1, about 80% of the internally generated photons are still trapped inside the device, losing energy through various loss channels. To improve efficiency and photon extraction, an effective light management strategy is essential. These strategies are analyzed in this review, taking into account the inherent optical properties and device structures of perovskite materials. These methods have the potential to exceed the efficiency limits of traditional flat organic LED devices. Lessons learned from organic leds and perovskite solar cells can guide future research to achieve ultra-efficient perovskite leds.
