Recently, the Optical Society of America (Optica) announced the list of new 2022 Fellows, 106 scientists from 24 countries have been newly elected as Optica Fellows. For significant contributions to the research of advanced passive silicon photonic devices, Daoxin Dai, Professor, Director of International Research Center for Advanced Photonics of Zhejiang University was Elected as Optica Fellow of the Year 2022.
Optica Fellow is the highest academic honor granted to experts in the field by the Optical Society of America. Founded in 1916, the Society is an authoritative international academic organization in the field of optics. Its mission is to promote the development and application of optics and photonics knowledge and its wide dissemination throughout the world. In addition to optics and photonics, it also provides high-level information services to experts and scholars in physics, biology, medicine, electrical engineering, communications, astronomy, meteorology, materials science, mechanical engineering and computing. Every year, the Society selects scholars with outstanding achievements and leadership in the field of optics to award the Fellow title in recognition of their significant contributions to the development of optics and photonics.
